Book Exhibition on Children Day and World Diabetes Day

 Under the able guidance of  Principal Ma'am Prof. Dr. Rama Arora, the Library of PGGCG-11, Chandigarh organized a Book Exhibition on 14 November 2025 to mark two significant observances—Children’s Day and World Diabetes Day. The exhibition aimed to promote reading habits among students and to create awareness about child welfare, health, and lifestyle-related concerns.

The purpose of the exhibition was to commemorate Children’s Day by showcasing books that inspire moral values, creativity, and holistic development in young readers; and to observe World Diabetes Day by highlighting the importance of health literacy, preventive care, and awareness about diabetes; and also to encourage students to explore library resources and develop an interest in diverse subjects.

In the Book exhibition, various books were displayed such as, storybooks, motivational books, and biographies of great personalities, children’s literature, value education, inspirational writings by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and other noted authors, books on nutrition, health, and fitness, reference materials on diabetes management and prevention, guides on healthy lifestyle, food habits, and medical awareness.



The Principal, Prof. DR. Rama Arora, visited the exhibition and appreciated the meaningful and educational event. She highlighted the importance of inculcating reading habits and staying informed about health and wellness.

The exhibition received an excellent response from students and faculty members. Many students visited the display throughout the day and expressed keen interest in books related to both themes. Faculty members appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to utilize the library more effectively.

Library Competition


The Library of PGGCG-11, Chandigarh successfully organized its Library Competition today i.e. on 14.11.2025 under the able guidance of Esteemed Principal Prof. DR. Rama Arora, bringing together enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. The event featured activities such as the Library Book Hunting, Reference Hunting, Slogan Writing, Book Jacket Making and Book Mark designing -each showcasing students’ creativity, knowledge, and deep involvement with reading and learning.

The Principal, Prof. DR. Rama Arora, visited the library during the event and warmly appreciated the hard work and innovative spirit displayed by the students. She admired the quality of entries and distributed prizes and certificates to the winners and congratulated participants for their dedication and confidence. Madam Principal emphasized that such competitions play a vital role in:

  • strengthening reading habits

  • enhancing academic and creative skills

  • motivating students to use library resources effectively


Encouraging the students, the Principal remarked that the library is the heart of the institution and urged them to continue taking part in such meaningful and enriching activities. She motivated the participants to remain curious, read more, and make full use of the opportunities provided by the college.

The Librarian thanked the Principal for her constant support and appreciated the overwhelming student participation that made the event a great success.

Mobile Van Book Exhibition on Swami Vivekananda's Teachings

Under the able guidance of Principal Prof. DR. Rama Arora, College Library organized a Mobile van Book Exhibition in the College Campus in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama to promote moral values and inspire students with the teachings of great personalities on 14.10.2025. The exhibition aimed to familiarize students with Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts, philosophy and life lessons that emphasize self-discipline, service to humanity, and the pursuit of truth.

The exhibition featured a wide range of books written by and about Swami Vivekananda, including Karma Yoga, Raja YogaMeditation and Its Methods, and various biographies. The books highlighted his message of universal brotherhood, spiritual awakening, and the importance of character building among youth.



Principal Prof. DR. Rama Arora along with Dean, Vice principal of the college visited this exhibition. Students, faculty, staff and visitors enthusiastically participated in the event. A short talk was delivered by Brahamchari Vivek on Swami Vivekananda’s relevance in the modern world, followed by a group discussion on how his ideas can be applied in daily life.

The exhibition received a positive response, inspiring many students to buy books on moral and spiritual development. It successfully achieved its goal of spreading awareness about moral values and motivating the youth to lead purposeful and principled lives.


The Book Exhibition on Moral Values by Swami Vivekananda was a memorable and enlightening event that reminded everyone of the timeless relevance of his teachings. It encouraged students to cultivate moral strength, self-confidence, and compassion — the true foundations of a strong character and nation.

Library Orientation Programme (28.07.25 to 31.07.25)

Library Orientation Programme was conducting in the library from 28.07.25 to 31.07.25 to make the new users familiar with the library resources, library working, Reference sources, Library rules, Library working and Library facilities etc. which are providing to the users. Every year at the starting of the session library organizes orientation programme. Librarian gave brief information about the rules and regulations of the library and also guide the students about how to take membership of the library so that they can avail the facilities provided by the library and make optimum use of the library resources. Principal madam Prof Dr. Rama Arora motivated the students to explore the library sources. More than 1000 students attended the orientation programme in these two days.

 Book exhibition was organized on the new arrivals in the college library on 17.04.2025. Competitive books, Reference books, General reading books, Fiction, Biographies and Subject books were displayed to aware the students and the staff about the newly added books in the library.
