Celebrated Hindi Diwas with a Spectacular Two-Day Book Exhibition! 📚✨

To mark the occasion of Hindi Diwas, PGGCG-11. College library organized a special Two-Day Hindi Book Exhibition, bringing together literature lovers, students, and faculty to celebrate the richness of Hindi language and heritage.

The exhibition showcased a diverse range of Hindi literature, including timeless classics by Munshi Premchand, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, and Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, alongside modern fiction, poetry, and academic reference works. The exhibition showcased a wide variety of Hindi books spanning biographies of eminent writers, classic and contemporary literature, short stories, poetry collections, insightful works on journalism and engaging novels. 

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal, whose gracious presence and inspiring words motivated both students and staff. Her continuous encouragement and support for academic and cultural activities truly elevated the spirit of this event.

Book Exhibition on  Independence Day and National Library Week

To commemorate Independence Day and celebrate National Library Week, Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, organized a curated Book Exhibition within the library premises.

The exhibition showcased an extensive collection of historical literature, biographies of freedom fighters, rare manuscripts, and contemporary scholarly publications on Indian history and nation-building. Designed to enrich the academic experience of students and faculty alike, the event highlighted the crucial role of libraries in preserving cultural heritage and intellectual history.

Organized under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal, the initiative reflects PGGCG-11’s continued commitment to fostering academic excellence, critical inquiry, and a deep appreciation for reading across the campus community.

Post Graduate Government College for Girls (PGGCG), Sector 11, Chandigarh, organized a four day (3.08.26 to 6.08.26) comprehensive Library Orientation Programme designed to familiarize newly admitted students with the institute’s academic infrastructure.

The orientation introduced students to the library’s extensive repository of physical and digital assets, including book collections, scholarly journals, e-resources, and automated search services. Attendees were also briefed on operational guidelines, institutional policies, and borrowing mechanisms to ensure effective utilization of these facilities for academic research and independent study.

Under the direction of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal, the institution continues to prioritize student-centric learning environments that cultivate intellectual curiosity and academic rigor.

Book Exhibition on Children Day and World Diabetes Day

 Under the able guidance of  Principal Ma'am Prof. Dr. Rama Arora, the Library of PGGCG-11, Chandigarh organized a Book Exhibition on 14 November 2025 to mark two significant observances—Children’s Day and World Diabetes Day. The exhibition aimed to promote reading habits among students and to create awareness about child welfare, health, and lifestyle-related concerns.

The purpose of the exhibition was to commemorate Children’s Day by showcasing books that inspire moral values, creativity, and holistic development in young readers; and to observe World Diabetes Day by highlighting the importance of health literacy, preventive care, and awareness about diabetes; and also to encourage students to explore library resources and develop an interest in diverse subjects.

In the Book exhibition, various books were displayed such as, storybooks, motivational books, and biographies of great personalities, children’s literature, value education, inspirational writings by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and other noted authors, books on nutrition, health, and fitness, reference materials on diabetes management and prevention, guides on healthy lifestyle, food habits, and medical awareness.



The Principal, Prof. DR. Rama Arora, visited the exhibition and appreciated the meaningful and educational event. She highlighted the importance of inculcating reading habits and staying informed about health and wellness.

The exhibition received an excellent response from students and faculty members. Many students visited the display throughout the day and expressed keen interest in books related to both themes. Faculty members appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to utilize the library more effectively.

Library Competition


The Library of PGGCG-11, Chandigarh successfully organized its Library Competition today i.e. on 14.11.2025 under the able guidance of Esteemed Principal Prof. DR. Rama Arora, bringing together enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. The event featured activities such as the Library Book Hunting, Reference Hunting, Slogan Writing, Book Jacket Making and Book Mark designing -each showcasing students’ creativity, knowledge, and deep involvement with reading and learning.

The Principal, Prof. DR. Rama Arora, visited the library during the event and warmly appreciated the hard work and innovative spirit displayed by the students. She admired the quality of entries and distributed prizes and certificates to the winners and congratulated participants for their dedication and confidence. Madam Principal emphasized that such competitions play a vital role in:

  • strengthening reading habits

  • enhancing academic and creative skills

  • motivating students to use library resources effectively


Encouraging the students, the Principal remarked that the library is the heart of the institution and urged them to continue taking part in such meaningful and enriching activities. She motivated the participants to remain curious, read more, and make full use of the opportunities provided by the college.

The Librarian thanked the Principal for her constant support and appreciated the overwhelming student participation that made the event a great success.
